FCRS Director, Jackie Watkins, has visited Madagascar several times for extended periods to visit her daughter, Bethany, and her Malagasy husband, Tsiraiky. Her family ties to Madagascar give her a more intimate view of the world’s fourth largest island and the people who live there. Bethany and Tsiraiky are both conservation scientists who met researching the behaviour of lemurs in Madagascar’s south, so expect stories of lemur antics and the other amazing wildlife that is found only in Madagascar. They now run a community led travel agency, Miremby Tours, organising group and bespoke tours to Madagascar.
All proceeds from the talk will go to support Friends of Conakry Refugee School, a UK charity based in Shropshire, who for 22 years have provided good quality education to 400 vulnerable students in Conakry Guinea
