In April 2026 Lisa Kim, Head of Education for UNICEF in Guinea visited CRS and was blown away by the Kike project which produces re-useable menstrual health kits for students.
A further visit by The Wazni Foundation followed and resulted in the gifting of four singer sewing machines enabling greater productions.
Those machines didn’t stop working for the next week and by the end of May 460 kits had been delivered to NGOs to be distributed throughout Guinea!

The money earned from the first ever sale of kits was used to fund a day of education and fun on International Menstrual Health Day. Jackie Watkins, FCRS Director and FCRS Trustee, Carol Jowitt had taken resources out the Guinea to enable the girls to make their very own period tracking bracelet. The girls attended a lecture on menstrual health by CRS graduate and trainee doctor Kemah, before having fun making period tracking bracelets and learning the words to the newly created Kike anthem.

The day was a great success and really helped embed the knowledge of periods to the female students at CRS. The boys were not left out though. 20 male members of the Health Club attended the lecture and two CRS graduates helped set up the technology to run the day.
